HISTORY

Bui Bolg was established in Wexford in 1994 by a group of young, enthusiastic art graduates aiming to bring art out on to the streets and make it accessible for all.

Our first ever event was The St Patrick’s Parade on Wexford’s quay front. Since then Bui Bolg has gone on to tour the festival circuit appearing at events as diverse as the Kilkenny Arts festival to The Rose of Tralee to The Volvo Ocean Race.

In recent years Bui Bolg has gone beyond Ireland and we have been hosted by places as far flung as The Taiwan Kaohsiung Festival to the Memphis in May Desti -Nations festival. We also regularly appear at the largest Chinese New Year Parade of Asia- The Chingay parade in Singapore.

Bui Bolg operates on social enterprise principals.
